Typos keep you real; keep us real; keep it real.

I'm not advocating for sloppy writing but c'mon--those who fear typographical errors (and those who are disdainful of typoes) are prigs. They strain to serve perfect gourmet meals but for some reason their efforts never quite look the same as the ones pictured in the cookbooks.

Overprocessing and micromanagement is not always the answer.

Cleaned-up pigshit is still pigshit.

It was his generosity which initially impressed me, the continuity and inclusion in his storytelling. In fact, being in the same room with Federman is a lot like reading one of his books--sprinkled with double-dashes, at times conspicuously free of punctuation. At other times, he rewrites the story while you watch, and in his transparency, in his willingness to show you the form, you forget there is a writer at all...
